June's full moon
Strawberry Moon 2027
The Strawberry Moon is June's full moon. In 2027 it is full on Saturday, 19 June 2027, 00:45 UTC. It is named for the short strawberry-picking season of early summer.
Strawberry Moon meaning
June's full moon marks the short strawberry-picking season in the north-east of North America, where the Algonquin gave it its name. In Europe it was the Rose Moon and the Honey Moon — the moon of midsummer weddings, which is one story of where the honeymoon got its name.
Also called: Rose Moon, Hot Moon, Honey Moon. The names come from the seasonal calendars of Native American, Colonial American and European tradition, as collected in the Old Farmer's Almanac; each one marks what was happening on the land in that month.

Times are UTC; your local time is shown in the opening line. A full moon is an instant, but the Moon looks full to the eye the night before and the night after as well.
Best time to see the Strawberry Moon
Go out at moonrise on the evening of Sat 19 Jun: look east just after sunset, when the Moon sits on the horizon, looks largest, and takes on its warmest colour. The Strawberry Moon is the lowest full moon of the year in the northern hemisphere, hugging the horizon all night and often glowing amber because of it.
